Just one thing I’d like for everyone to think about.
Finn didn’t just “abandon” Rachel for 4 months. He joined the army, he was in basic training. And then he had a gun accident. Yeah, it may have happened because he was a clutz and clumsy. But you can’t deny that fact that
A FUCKING BULLET WENT THROUGH HIS LEG.
He was probably in the hospital for days, even weeks. Maybe even a month. And no one on Glee ever mentions that. Rachel or Kurt didn’t even seem to care if his leg had recovered. If it had been any other character, they’d still be treated like an invalid.
I have never said this, but I was flabbergasted at the writers for brushing this away like it never happened. If a fucking bullet went through the leg of an enlisted recruit, they would have contacted his family and Kurt would have known about it. Kurt would have told Rachel and she would have run to Finn to the hospital and Brody would have never happened. Instead, they had Finn go hiking through the Appalachian trails for four months.
Not only was he physically hurt, his pride was shot down. All his dreams were shattered, his desire to make Rachel be proud of him, his dreams for the redemption of his father name, all his hopes and dreams for his future went down the drain because of that accident.
And some people do not realize this. They only care that he “abandoned” Rachel.
